Woodland-Davis Clean Water Agency

Safety of Treated Drinking Water

Remarkable advancements have been made in treatment technology, resulting in better, more cost-effective processes.

Water treatment has come a long way in the past 100 years. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, there are three key components to providing safe drinking water supplies and protecting public health:

  1. High-quality water source
  2. Water treatment to improve quality and provide disinfection
  3. Modern water distribution system that maintains high levels of water quality and disinfection

Today's water treatment facilities are designed to meet current and future potential regulations.
